** This retreat can be done as an actual close retreat, in which you must at least take part in two sessions a day, or you can participate in the retreat in a less formalized manner as part of your preliminary guide practice of Guru Yoga.
Dec 23 - Jan 14 (3-weeks) ; Vajradaka Fire Puja after completion**
This special retreat is where we will draw closer and closer to our Root Guru, through the collection of 100,000 Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka mantra recitation.
Engaging in such a counting retreat is a simple yet very profound practice that will create very powerful actions to cause Kadam Dharma to flourish in our hearts and throughout the world. It is called a close retreat because when engaged in skillfully with wisdom, faith and the pure motivation of compassion, we naturally draw close to that Buddha, deepening our connection and enabling their enlightened qualities to grow stronger within us.
Gen-la Dekyong explained at the 2022 NKT_IKBU Spring Festival how this mantra is the very essence of the guru yoga of Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka. By reciting this mantra with faith, a pure motivation, and strong conviction in the law of cause and effect we will place very strong potentials within our mind to easily accomplish all spiritual attainments. Venerable Geshe-la said, "This is magical."
The close retreat will include the collection of 100,000 Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka mantras and end with 10,000 mantras of Vajradaka.
**After completing 100,000 mantras each person can engage in the Vajradaka burning offering individually.
DOING A CLOSE RETREAT
- Counting 100k mantras of Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka
- Counting 10k mantras with Vajradaka Burning Offering
- Complete the entire retreat either at home or at the centre. (all sessions must be done on the same cushion)
Please note: Although 3 weeks have been set aside to engage in this retreat it is possible to complete the retreat in a much shorter time, depending on individual wishes and capacity.
DROP IN SESSIONS
- If you cannot do an entire close retreat, but like to count the mantras as part of your Guru Yoga Preliminary Guide, you may join the center during sessions as you are able.
8am-9.30am, 11am-12.30pm, 4pm-5.30pm, 8pm-9:30pm
- RM 550 for whole retreat (3 weeks)
