Saturday 01 Mar 2025: 2pm-5pm
Ever wondered what are mantras and how to make your own mala (prayer beads)? Enjoy a peaceful Saturday afternoon with us, where we'll combine both teachings and explore this traditional art by making your own 108-bead mala to take home with you.
We begin with a teaching with Kadampa teacher Janice, who will give an explaination to the meaning and purpose of mantras, and learn how to use a Buddhist mala in conjunction with mantra recitation to improve your peace of mind, compassion and wisdom. This will be followed by a practical hands-on workshop where you can make your own mala. (Beads and craft equipment provided).
After everyone has completed making their malas, in the final session, you will receive a mantra to recite and learn how to use and bless your mala.
Timetable:
2pm - 3pm: Teaching
3pm - 4.30pm: Mala making workshop
4.30pm - 5pm: Mantra recitation & blessing our new mala
Workshop Fee:
RM80 (inclusive of materials)
