What to expect at a class?

With the pace and stress of modern life our body and mind can easily become out of balance. In such a state we cannot be of much benefit to either ourselves or to others. Through training in meditation and spiritual paths we can learn how to develop a more healthy and happy mind, and by doing so enjoy our life and bring joy and benefit to others. Join us at any of our weekly General Program (GP) classes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which classes should I start with?
All of our weekly drop-in classes are ideal for beginners. Classes may include topics like overcoming stress and anxiety, improving relationships, gaining peace of mind, learning to love, and dealing with anger. You can drop into these classes without having any previous experience in meditation.

What is the class format?
Classes include a brief meditation, a teaching on how to apply Buddhist principles into your daily life, time for questions and answers and a meditation to help gain experience with the teaching.

Do I need to have experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend classes?
No, all you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your mind and your life.
How should I dress for class?
There is no special clothing needed for these meditation classes. You will be sitting comfortably on a chair or cushion.

Do I have to wait for the next series of classes to begin?
No, please feel free to drop in whenever you like. Attending the entire series of classes is highly beneficial as each class builds on the next. However, each class is taught in such a way that if you only attend one class, you will still derive benefit from it.
